မီရှဲလ်နဲ့မိတ်ဆက်ပေးပါရစေ။ သူက 2017 YSEALI Women Leadership Academy (WLA) ဝိုင်ဆီးလီ အမျိူးသမီးဦးဆောင်မှုအကယ်ဒမီ အစီအစဉ်ကို ၂၀၁၇ ခုနှစ်မှာပါဝင်ခဲ့သူဖြစ်ပြီး အခုဆိုရင် ဒီ YSEALI Myanmar WLA အစီအစဉ် ပညာတော်သင်ဟောင်းများအဖွဲ့ကို ဦးဆောင်နေသူဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

မီရှဲလ်က မြန်မာအမျိုးသမီးကိုယ်လုံပညာသင်တန်း (MWSDC) ကို ပူးတွဲတည်ထောင်သူတစ်ဦးလည်းဖြစ်ပြီး နည်းပြတာဝန်ယူထားပါတယ်။ MWSDC ဟာမြန်မာနိုင်ငံမှာ ပထမဆုံး အမျိုးသမီးကိုယ်လုံသင်တန်းဖြစ်ပြီး အမျိုးသမီးတွေအနေနဲ့ လိင်ပိုင်းဆိုင်ရာနှောက်ယှက်ခံရမှုကနေကာကွယ်ဖို့၊ ကိုယ်ကာယကျန်းမာရေးအသိပညာတွေမျှဝေဖို့၊ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအတွင်းက အမျိုးသမီးတွေကို အကာကွယ်ပေးထားတဲ့ လက်ရှိဥပဒေတွေနဲ့ပတ်သက်ပြီး အသိပညာပေးမှုတွေမြှင့်တင်ဖို့ရည်ရွယ်ချက်နဲ့ တည်ထောင်ထားတာပါ။

၂၀၂၀ အောက်တိုဘာလ ထဲမှာ မီရှဲလ်နဲ့ YSEALI Myanmar WLA အစီအစဉ် ပညာတော်သင်ဟောင်းများအဖွဲ့တို့ ပူးပေါင်းပြီး “အမျိုးသမီးတွေဘာကြောင့်နိုင်ငံရေးမှာပါဝင်သင်သလဲ၊ သူတို့အတွက် အဟန့်အတားတွေက ဘာတွေလဲ” ဆိုတဲ့ခေါင်းစဉ်နဲ့ live ဆွေးနွေးပွဲတစ်ခုပြုလုပ်ခဲ့ကြပါသေးတယ်။ အခုလက်ရှိသူတို့လုပ်နေကြတဲ့ ပရောဂျက်ကတော့ စိတ်ကျန်းမာရေးနဲ့ပတ်သက်ပြီး အသိပညာပေးမှုမြှင့်တင်တဲ့ ဇာတ်လမ်းပုံပြင်စီးရီးပါ။

“ဝိုင်ဆီးလီ အမျိူးသမီးဦးဆောင်မှုအကယ်ဒမီ အစီအစဉ်က တစ်ဆင့် ကြံခိုင်ပြီး အခြားသူတွေကို စွမ်းရည်မြင့်တင်ပေးနိုင်တဲ့ အမျိုးသမီးတွေနဲ့ တွေ့ခွင့်ရခဲ့တဲ့အတွက် ကျွန်မ ဝမ်းသာရပါတယ်။ ကျွန်မတို့တတွေ ကွန်ရက်တစ်ခုဖွဲ့နိုင်ခဲ့လို့ အခုဆိုရင် တစ်ယောက်နဲ့တစ်ယောက် အကူအညီတွေပေးပြီး တစ်နည်းမဟုတ်တစ်နည်းနဲ့ အပြန်အလှန်ပံပိုးပေးနိုင်ကြပါပြီဖြစ်ပါတယ်” လို့ မီရှဲလ်ကပြောပါတယ်။

Meet Michelle! She was a participant at the YSEALI Women Leadership Academy (WLA) in 2017 and now serves as the country lead for the YSEALI Myanmar WLA Alumni group.
Michelle was one of the co-founders of the Myanmar Women Self Defense Center (MWSDC) and took the role of lead instructor. MWSDC is the very first women’s self-defense center in Myanmar and aims to empower women to protect themselves from sexual harassment, share knowledge on physical health, and raise awareness about existing laws that protect women in Myanmar.

In October 2020, Michelle and the YSEALI Myanmar Women Leadership Academy Alumni group held a live event titled “Why women should be involved in politics and what are the obstacles?” Their current project is a series of storybooks to raise awareness about mental health issues.

“I am glad that I had a chance to meet strong and empowering women through the YSEALI Women Leadership Academy. We created a network and now are able to help each other, support each other in any way. I hope this network grows stronger than ever” said Michelle.
